Comparison
A meter you have to watch, against an allowance you do not
HelpCrunch is a support product with a marketing product attached: live chat and a shared inbox on one side, email campaigns and popups on the other. Its AI is included in small amounts and extended by purchase, which makes the headline plan price only part of what you will actually pay.
What HelpCrunch actually is
HelpCrunch describes itself as customer service software covering all your business needs, and it is unusually broad for its size. The named modules are live chat, a shared inbox, a knowledge base, email marketing, popups, chatbots and AI agents, with communication across live chat, email and messengers including WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, SMS, Viber and Discord.
Its plans are named Basic, Pro and Unlimited, plus an enterprise style tier. What is unusual is how the price is presented: rather than a fixed figure per tier, the pricing page is driven by sliders, with email volume and AI capacity chosen before a price appears. That makes it flexible and makes it hard to quote.
AI agents start at Pro. HelpCrunch's own documentation lists the included allowance as 50 AI agent conversations a month on Pro and 100 a month on Unlimited, with extension packages available from 100 up to 10,000 extra conversations a month. On the pricing page, AI conversation extensions ran from 100 at $29 a month up to 100,000 at $8,000 a month, and AI data source extensions from 100 at $5 a month up to 100,000 at $3,000 a month, with a 20 percent discount for paying annually.
The company publishes a 14 day free trial and offers free migration. The overall shape is a suite where the software is affordable and the AI is a consumable, which is a fair model as long as you know your volume before you commit. The extension prices above are what HelpCrunch published on the checked date. They move, so check their pricing page before treating them as current.
Reasons to choose HelpCrunch instead
Written to be used rather than to be waved at. If any of these describe you, this is the wrong product and the rest of the page will not change that.
- You want support and outbound marketing from one vendor. Email campaigns, auto messages and popups sit alongside the inbox, and running those in a separate tool costs money and attention.
- You want the messengers covered. WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Messenger, SMS, Viber and Discord are all named. Askably answers on your own website and nowhere else.
- You need a hosted knowledge base and a shared inbox for a team. Both are core HelpCrunch modules and neither exists here.
- Your AI volume is either tiny or enormous. The included allowance suits a quiet site, and the extension ladder runs to 100,000 conversations a month, so the ceiling is far higher than anything on this price list.
- You want to try it before paying anything. A 14 day free trial and free migration are published, and 20 percent off for annual payment is stated plainly.
Reasons to choose this one
- No AI meter to top up. Starter is $29 a month for 1,000 replies, Growth is $99 for 5,000, Agency does not meter replies, and the free tier is 50 a month at $0.
- Indexing capacity is part of the plan rather than a separate purchase: 500 pages and 50 files on Starter, 5,000 pages and 500 files on Growth, 50,000 pages and unlimited files on Agency.
- Every answer carries numbered citations, and below the match threshold you set it refuses without reaching the model, returning wording you wrote.
- The published price is the price. There is no slider to configure and no separate charge for taking our name off the widget on any paid tier.
- Appearance is fully brandable including custom CSS, with the launcher in a closed shadow root and the panel in a separate frame, so the widget cannot collide with your page.

What we could not verify
Listing this is more useful than filling it in. Every line here is something that was not clearly published, or was behind a sign-up.
- The base monthly price of Basic, Pro and Unlimited did not appear without moving the sliders on the pricing page, so no plan price is quoted here.
- Whether HelpCrunch branding can be removed from the widget, and at what cost, was not addressed on the pricing page or in the published frequently asked questions.
- How a single AI agent conversation is counted was not defined on the documentation page that lists the allowances.
Questions
- Is this cheaper than HelpCrunch?
- We cannot say, honestly, because their base plan prices were not shown without using the sliders. What is comparable is the AI: their smallest published conversation extension is 100 for $29 a month, and $29 here is 1,000 replies. Check their live pricing before believing either figure.
- Does it send email campaigns or show popups?
- No. There is no proactive or campaign messaging of any kind, no popups and no outbound email. It answers when a visitor opens it.
- Can it work across messengers like HelpCrunch does?
- No. Your website only. No WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, SMS or phone.
- What does it index?
- Documents you upload in the usual office formats along with plain text, spreadsheets, slides and web pages, or a crawl of your own site that obeys robots rules and follows your sitemap. Nothing else reaches the answers.
