Comparison

You are paying per head for a help centre you may already have

Re:amaze charges by the person and gives you somewhere to publish: a hosted help site on your own domain, a status page, chatbots, campaigns and an inbox, with the AI metered per user on top of all of it. The question worth answering before you compare prices is how much of that you would actually switch on.

What Re:amaze actually is

Re:amaze is a shared inbox with a publishing side attached to it. Alongside the inbox it lists a FAQ centre, a Status Page, Chat with chatbots, Push Campaigns, Cues, Peek for co browsing, Workflows, Satisfaction Surveys, Office Hours, Multibrand and reporting, consolidating what it describes as email, AI powered live chat, social media, mobile SMS, VoIP, video calls and push notification conversations.

The FAQ is the part worth pricing separately in your head. It is described as a customizable and embeddable FAQ centre that can be displayed as a Help Site on the domain of your choice, embedded inline on your existing website, or displayed within Chat. Articles written there also act as the repository of knowledge that trains their AI Agent and chatbots.

Pricing is per team member, monthly or annually with ten percent off. Basic was $29 a team member a month or $26.10 billed annually, Pro $49 or $44.10, and Plus $69 or $62.10, with Plus marked as their most popular plan. There is also Starter at a $59 flat rate a month, described as all of the features in Basic for unlimited team members, limited to 500 responded conversations a month.

The AI has its own meter and it is scaled per person. Basic includes 5 resolutions a month per user, Pro 10 and Plus 20, with additional resolutions at $0.85 each. The AI is labelled Beta on their features list. A 14 day free trial with no credit card is published, and custom hosted domain appears on Pro and Plus. These are their published figures on the checked date, and they move, so read their pricing page before planning around any of it.

Reasons to choose Re:amaze instead

Written to be used rather than to be waved at. If any of these describe you, this is the wrong product and the rest of the page will not change that.

  • You need somewhere to publish articles and you do not have one. The FAQ centre is hosted for you, can sit on your own domain on Pro and Plus, and doubles as the material their AI answers from. This product reads material and hosts none of it, so choosing us leaves you still needing a place to put it.
  • You want a status page. Theirs is part of the product, for telling customers about an incident or an outage, and there is no equivalent here at any price or on any tier.
  • Your team is one or two people. At $29 a team member a month, one person on Basic costs the same as our entry tier and brings an inbox, chat, chatbots, the FAQ centre and the status page along with it.
  • You are early and want everyone in the account. Starter at a flat $59 a month gives unlimited team members the Basic feature set, capped at 500 responded conversations a month, which is an unusual shape and a generous one for a small company with a lot of people.
  • You need the channels and the human tooling around them. Email, social, SMS, voice, video calls, co browsing, office hours and multibrand are all listed. This is a text widget on one website with nobody behind it.

Reasons to choose this one

  • Nobody is priced per head. The list is $0, $29, $99 and $299 a month whatever the size of your team, so putting another colleague on the account does not put another line on the invoice.
  • There is no resolution overage to keep an eye on. Against a per user allowance of 5, 10 or 20 a month and $0.85 for each one after that, a busy week has a price. Here the allowance is the plan: 1,000 replies at $29, 5,000 at $99, unmetered at $299.
  • If your policies are already published, you are most of the way there. It crawls your own site following your sitemap and obeying robots rules, or takes uploaded files, and answers from that with numbered citations. Nothing has to be rewritten into help centre articles first.
  • It stops rather than guesses. Below a match threshold you set it never reaches the model and returns the fallback line you wrote, and you also control the caution level, the reply length and how many passages are retrieved.
  • The widget carries your name only, on every paid tier, and looks the way you want down to custom CSS, isolated in a closed shadow root with the panel in its own frame.

Read off their own site on that date, quoted narrowly. Prices and packaging in this category change often, so treat this as a snapshot and check both before you decide.

What we could not verify

Listing this is more useful than filling it in. Every line here is something that was not clearly published, or was behind a sign-up.

  • How a Re:amaze AI resolution is counted, and what becomes of a conversation the AI handled that did not turn into one, was not defined on the pages read.
  • Whether the included per user resolutions pool across the account or stay strictly with each person was not stated.
  • Whether the flat rate Starter plan carries any AI resolution allowance at all, given that the allowance is expressed per user and Starter has unlimited team members.
  • Whether Re:amaze branding can be removed from the chat widget, and on which plan, was not addressed on the pricing or features pages.

Questions

Can it host our help centre?
No. It hosts nothing at all. It indexes pages on your own site or files you upload and answers from them. If you need somewhere to publish articles for customers to read directly, Re:amaze includes that and this does not.
Do we still need a knowledge base if we use this?
You need the material to exist somewhere readable. If your policies are already on your own site, a crawl is enough. If they live in a shared drive and a colleague's memory, write them down first, wherever suits you.
Is it cheaper for a team of five?
On arithmetic yes, five people on their Basic list price is $145 a month against $29 or $99 here. But that compares a support desk for five with a widget that has no inbox. Work out what you need before you work out what it costs.
Does it publish a status page or send campaigns?
No. No status page, no push campaign, no proactive message and no popup. It sits still until a visitor opens it.
