Comparison

Gorgias answers about the order. This answers about the policy.

Gorgias is built around the one thing this product structurally cannot touch. Its AI sits beside a store and answers about the order behind the question. This one answers about the written policy, from documents, and has no idea who is asking or what they bought. That is not a feature gap you can configure away.

What Gorgias actually is

Gorgias is a helpdesk built for online shops, and its pricing unit is the ticket rather than the person. Its pricing page states that the helpdesk scales from 50 to 5,000 tickets a month, never priced per agent, and that you get AI Agent on every plan, pay only when it resolves a conversation. The same page names integrations with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce.

That pricing page showed no dollar figure at all in its text on the date checked. Gorgias's own guide to choosing a plan does publish them: Starter at $10 USD a month for 50 billable tickets, Basic at $60 for 300, Pro at $360 for 2,000, Advanced at $900 for 5,000, and Enterprise as custom on both price and volume.

The same guide defines the unit, which matters more than the headline. A billable ticket is counted when a customer sends you a message and your team interacts with it. Several messages inside one conversation count once, and automated responses that fully resolve an issue do not count at all. Overages were listed at $0.40 an extra ticket on Starter and Basic, $0.25 on Pro, and negotiated rates on Advanced. Pro and Advanced were described as carrying unlimited agent seats.

None of that is the real difference. The reason Gorgias exists is that the assistant can see the order behind the question and do something about it. Everything above is what Gorgias published on the checked date across its pricing page and its own plan guide, and those two pages do not agree on how the AI is billed, which is recorded below rather than tidied away.

Reasons to choose Gorgias instead

Written to be used rather than to be waved at. If any of these describe you, this is the wrong product and the rest of the page will not change that.

  • Your questions are about orders, and on a shop most of them are. Where is it, cancel it, change the address, send a refund. Askably cannot see an order, an account, a subscription or a payment, and there is no setting that grants it one. If your inbox is order questions, this comparison ends on this line.
  • You run a store on one of the platforms it plugs into. Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce are named on their own pricing page, and having the store sitting beside the conversation is the entire point of the product.
  • Nobody gets charged for existing. Billing by ticket rather than by seat means a five person team costs what a one person team costs, which is the opposite of nearly everything else in this category.
  • Your volume is genuinely tiny. At the published Starter figure of $10 a month for 50 billable tickets, a very quiet shop pays a third of what the entry tier here costs, and gets a real helpdesk for it.
  • You want the ticket and the automation on one bill from one vendor, with voice and SMS available as add ons on the same account rather than as a second contract.

Reasons to choose this one

  • The questions you have left over are documentary, not transactional. Sizing, materials, delivery windows, the returns clock, care instructions, warranty terms. That is a reading problem, and it is answered from your own pages and files with numbered citations on every claim.
  • Nothing is metered by conversation. Free at $0 for 50 replies a month, Starter at $29 for 1,000, Growth at $99 for 5,000, Agency at $299 with replies unmetered. A reply counts as one whether it took a single exchange or six.
  • Below a match threshold you set, it refuses without reaching the model and returns wording you wrote. On a shop that is worth something, because a confident wrong answer about a returns window becomes a dispute rather than an apology.
  • Indexing capacity is stated on the tier rather than negotiated: 500 pages and 50 files on Starter, 5,000 pages and 500 files on Growth, 50,000 pages and unlimited files on Agency.
  • Our name leaves the widget at $29 a month, and the widget itself is yours down to custom CSS, sitting in a closed shadow root with the panel in its own frame so a theme update cannot break it.

What we could not verify

Listing this is more useful than filling it in. Every line here is something that was not clearly published, or was behind a sign-up.

  • No dollar figure appeared in the text of the pricing page itself on the date checked, so every Gorgias price quoted above comes from their own plan guide, which may lag the live page.
  • Two Gorgias published statements about AI billing disagree. The pricing page says you pay only when it resolves a conversation. The plan guide describes the AI as a $250 monthly add on. Neither page resolved the other, so no AI price is quoted above.
  • Voice and SMS are offered as add ons with pricing described as scaling with call and text volume, and no figures for either are published.
  • Whether Starter and Basic also carry unlimited seats, or whether that applies only to Pro and Advanced, was not stated.

Questions

Can it tell a customer where their order is?
No. It has no connection to a store, an order system, a payment processor or a customer account, and it cannot be given one. It answers from pages and files you indexed, and that is the entire boundary of it. If where is my order is your top question, buy Gorgias.
How do replies compare with billable tickets?
They are not the same unit and dividing one into the other will mislead you. Their ticket is a conversation your team touched. A reply here is one answer returned to a visitor. Count your own traffic in both units before comparing any price.
Does it work on my store platform?
It installs as a script tag on any site that permits one, hosted store platforms included. That puts the widget on the page. It does not give the widget access to your catalogue, your stock or your orders.
What happens when somebody asks for a refund?
It cannot start one. It can tell them what your refund policy says, with a citation pointing at the passage, then take a name, an email and a message and send that to an address you nominate.
